Trafalgar Con-Ed cares!

Anyone working at Sheridan can be part of SheridanCares. Ideally, people join in groups based on their department/office cluster/etc., but you are welcome to join as an individual. The only provision to join is that you agree to the Green Pledge and promise to do your best to put it into action. 

 

When you are ready to sign the Green Pledge and be part of Sheridan Cares, email me or leave a post below letting me know the name(s), department & campus of participants. If you are joining as a group, tell me who the lead person is.

(1) I will supply you with the large (11″x17″) We Care sign (or you can download it). Have your group sign the pledge and post it at the entrance to your workspace or in a central place near where your group does its thing.  I will add you to the People Who Care list.

(2) In addition to the large central We Care sign, each person who signs may want to post a personal sign on their cubicle/desk or as you wish to further raise awareness.

(3) I will get the lead set up as a contributor to the blog so you can add ideas and comments from your group.

(4) Make sure you have well-marked recycling containers in place. Consider having a green bin/kitchen catcher for compostables… for example, see Green Ideas.

(5) Decide on people to take responsibility for turning off things like lights, computers, etc., at the end of each day.

(6) Encourage everyone in your group to bookmark the Sheridan Cares home page or subscribe through the RSS feed.

That’s all you need to do to get started! Now, most important of all, act (and continue to act) to start reducing your environmental footprint at work.

Everyone participating in Sheridan Cares agrees to the Green Pledge but each group works semi-autonomously to decide how best to apply that pledge in their area. Check out the external links in the column to the right as well as the posts on the home page. And PLEASE post your ideas for others to read and get inspired by!
